Tomas Cap Baptismal Record 1845

Tomas Cap was baptized on December 15, 1845 in Suchdol nad Lužnicí, a town in the southern Bohemian region of the modern day Czech Republic. He was only one day old when baptized.

The record is in Czechoslovakian and the handwriting is challenging to read. I have been assisted in the interpretation of the document.

Looking at the record: The first column indicates he was born on December 14, 1845. The second column is the date of baptism. The third is his house number, 58. At the time, buildings were numbered as they were built rather than given modern addresses relative to the location on the street.

The tick-mark columns indicate that he was Catholic, male, and legitimate.

The next box is information about his father. It says his father was Franz Cap a farm hand from Suchdol #59. It is thought that it says Franz is the son of Janos and Katarina Cap also from Suchdol #59.

The next box is information about his mother. It says her name was Terraza Florian. She was the daughter of Mathias who was from Suchdol #77 and Maryanna.

I will update this post as more information becomes available.
